Laser joined us for his first day yesterday. he’s an 8 year old Border Terrier. he’s also an adorable little guy! he immediately joined right in on the fun and figured out playgroup quickly. now I just need to get some shots of this little guy in action!
Cali and Roger are the newest additions to our group. Cali is a ten month old wirehaired pointing Griffon. Roger is a two year old Cavapoo – Cavalier King Charles and Poodle mix. They are both super sweet and will adjust to the group quite easily.
look for more pictures to come soon!!
Thor is a Coton de Tuilier. Normally this type of dog would have a long flowing coat. However, Thor finds that this gets in the way of his hiking and general merriment so he has his family keep him trimmed. And don’t let this little guys appearance fool you, he’s a born leader. You may chuckle at his name at first, but spend a little time with Thor and you’ll find that it suits him perfectly.
While he’s not always interested in playing with the other pups in playgroup, he LOVES to hike and is always at the front of the pack. In fact, he often has to turn around and remind us that we need to keep moving if we get too distracted along the way. Thor likes to keep a brisk pace.
You can tell when Thor is having a really great time because he picks up his back left paw and kicks it out to the side while running. It may be the cutest thing I’ve seen! And just because he’s white and fluffy doesn’t mean that he’s above getting down and dirty. He enjoys a good romp in the mud as much as any dog.
Over the coming weeks, I’m going to try to capture all the dogs that come to playgroup and give them their own little shout out. Stay tuned for write ups on each and every dog in the group!
Today Murphy came with us for the first time. Well, she’s come with us before but always with her Aunt Taylor and Ollie along for the hike.
Murphy was a little shy at first but in the end she had a great time. She did some exploring, sniffed a ton of stuff and followed Trixie to do some “hunting”. I think the two of them are on their way to being BFFs.
We all hope Murphy will join us again at playgroup.
These photos are from about a week ago. Sometimes we like to go to the back entrance so we can just frolic freely without running into anyone else.
Fudge likes to stalk the dogs he’s playing with … as you can see. Luckily, they don’t mind at all. I think it adds a little drama to their play time.
So I’ve been totally remiss in posting this winter. Partly due to illness, busy-ness, and life in general keeping me away from the computer. And partly due to the fact that some days it is just too COLD to take photos! But here’s a brief recap of what’s been happening at playgroup:
The holidays have been a little hectic in our household. Lots of travelling and time with the family. I’ve been a little remiss in taking photos of the dogs at the park. So here are a few holiday family photos from us:
Happy Holidays to all!
Over the weekend, we got lots and lots of snow. The park is now a winter wonderland! And the dogs LOVE it! Aslan likes to try to eat it:
Trixie, being from Tennessee, had a little trouble navigating it at first.
But she eventually got the hang of it:
We had our first snow! Nothing major . . . not like what’s coming. But the dogs were happy with it.
Note that even snow doesn’t keep some dogs out of the water!
Katie is such a happy girl! She loves the snow!
Here’s my buddy Aslan enjoying the snow. Supposedly he’s almost 10 years old, but I don’t buy it. Most of the time he acts like a 3 or 4 year old. The other day someone asked me if he was puppy!
